CHEMICAL ENGINEER 2
Boulder Ionics, a division of CoorsTek Specialty Chemicals, is seeking a Chemical Engineer to join our team as we develop new processes and begin production of electrolytes and energy materials that enable the next generation of batteries and ultracapacitors. The Chemical Engineer will support the design, build and test cycle of process development for the production of our electrolyte materials. As processes mature, the chemical engineering role will support scale-up and transitioning process improvements into production.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative engineer with a strong understanding of chemical engineering fundamentals and hands-on experimental and industrial chemical production skills. The right candidate will be comfortable in a laboratory/industrial setting and be both safe and productive with equipment, instrumentation, and hazardous chemicals.
• Support the design, build and test cycle of process development
• Document designs through calculations, component selection and memos
• Run tests, analyze and document results
• Prepare specifications for processes, facilities, products and tests
• Write and follow operating procedures
• Know and follow all safety requirements
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe lab environment
• BS in Chemical Engineering plus 2–4 years’ experience
• Strong knowledge of chemical engineering fundamentals
• Laboratory and/or industrial R&D experience
• Strong oral and written communication skills, ability to present results to team members
• Work independently and in multi-disciplinary teams
